Example of Setting up a Targeted Facebook Ad:
Below is an image of an area inside the Facebook Ads Manager that allows you to choose your audience. In the podcast I discussed the HUGE benefit of being able to be very specific with your ad targeting. Below you can see I targeted an engaged female, between the age of 22 and 32, who likes David’s Bridal.
You can drill down further and specify the exact city or zip code. So while there is an audience of 640k people for the criteria below, once you target a specific state, city, or zip code, that number will decrease significantly.
The other interesting thing I wanted to point out is that when I chose David’s Bridal, other suggested interests popped up, such as Men’s Warehouse. As many of us wedding photographers know, Men’s Warehouse is a popular place for tuxedos. You see, our whole lives are seemingly encompassed in our Facebook likes!
Once you play around with this a little bit and give some thought to the criteria you should target for your photography business — whether that is pet photography, portrait photography, real estate photography, commercial photography, or wedding photography — you will be even more excited about the marketing possibilities Facebook has.
