Tech talk — if you are entering into being a visual creator or have decided it is time to up your audio game by upgrading your microphone, I am sure you will find this video review helpful. I started out with the Rode VideoMic Pro which is a really popular choice for many creators. But once I found out about the Sennheiser MKE 440, I decided to give the new microphone a try and compare the sound I was getting from the Rode VideoMic Pro to the Sennheiser MKE 440.
Ultimately I really liked the sound quality of the Sennheiser MKE 440 and now use it as my daily driver. I sold the Rode. The new Rode VideoMic Pro Plus is out on the market now, but I haven’t tried and and can’t comment how the new mic compares. But Dave Dugdale did a review of the old one vs. the new one and didn’t find much of a difference, or at least felt it wasn’t necessary to make the investment in the new one for sound reasons, so that was interesting.
